LDI is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota with over 1,500 employees nationwide and is one of the largest privately held companies in the Midwest. As a third generation, family-owned business, LDI has been a manufacturing innovator for nearly 100 years. LDI's passion for innovation founded Quarrix Building Materials over 30 years ago. With LDI's support, developments in breakthrough patented designs and advanced building materials; Quarrix quickly emerged as a leader in the specialty roofing products industry.

Not only for building one of the largest companies in the Midwest but for his uncanny ability to recognize every face and recall every name. One minute with Mike and you realize it's his passion, tenacity, and warmth that makes the man. It's not all about business with Mike, but about his employees.

In honor of LDI's 98^th anniversary, we launched the '98 Stories of Caring' Campaign to acknowledge the number of years we've been in business and to celebrate our employees who make giving back and getting involved an ongoing and integral part of who we are. Our goal is to collect 100 employee stories, leading up to our 100^th anniversary celebration. Stories of caring can inspire us, motivate us and bring us closer together.
